Lady just drug in her 2009 stuff

She has atrocious records, brought 1/2 of what I need, BUT has paid $100,000 in personal credit card debt down to "only" $60,000. Is there a tax break for doing that, she asks?

Wow. It's not even October 13.
If you loan someone $20 and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

    Nope.

Get fee up front. Big fee up front. Actually if she is a sole proprietor, I would give her an organizer to complete and have her sign off on the information.

I totally agree with Jiggers and if she doesn't want to complete an organizer charge a large fee for records keeping or send her elsewhere
Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.

          Agree with the two previous

I currently charge by the form with an added charge of $120 an hour for dealing with records that are excessive in volume or not in good order or both. Some cheerfully pay it and that's OK by me. I am still thinking of going to a straight hourly charge to help me discipline myself to always charge a high enough fee and end the wrangling with myself over the value of a form that is much simpler and faster than that form usually is.

            Hourly billing

Billing by the form is actually not very logical, but to a client it probably looks less costly than if you billed $ 100 or $ 200 per hour even if the fee came out smaller.

A form may take ten minutes and if you charge $ 35 for the form that looks, to the client, cheaper than if you indicated that you did it for $ 200 per hour.

              We need a joking font

Apparently, some people have a way with words, but I -- oh -- I don't know... not have way, I guess.

The purpose of the post was to make fun of the stupid ideas that people have. You know, thinking you get a button for paying for 40% of that crap you took home from the store, car dealership, resort, etc. when you paid to Discover.

Got you all riled up about how to reform this lady's record keeping and make her mend her ways. Ok, you know that there is no help for somebody just now bringing 2009 stuff, don't you, guys? Zero.

Have you got a list/link that you can post of the symbols to make those faces? I used to have one for ten basic faces, but lost it. Only thing I can do now is this and sometimes I desperately need to stick my tongue out at certain folks but just cain't do it (and it's against the rules to give anybody a cussin' here).

                      Thanx for any assistance.

P.S. Rita / the "smiley face" is done by keying a colon : next to (no space) a parenthesis )

                        Smilies

Right below the last entry on a thread is a box that says posting rules. The smilies are in that box. If you click on smilies, it tells you what to type in to get the smilie you want.

Ditto. I printed it. Also found the info under FAQs -- Reading & Posting Messages -- see above toolbar. Along with a lot of other stuff I didn't know. (And some I don't get. I am such a greenhorn at this.)
