    Mistakenly did not file extension

I thought for sure I electronically filed an extension for a client come to find out I didnt. I plan to e-file the completed tax return tomorrow and most likley the TP will have a refund both Fed and AZ. Never been in this situation before. Will the IRS impose a penalty and if so what is the amt?

There is no penalty if there are refunds due.

I did that one year and the client owed money. But to my defense, they did not call and remind me to do the extension. But I usually did it. For some reason, i thought they had been in so didn't do the extension.

They weren't mad about it. Everything was okay. Still my clients.

        It can or could happen

Try as I might and go over my list, and send out notices, it could happen that we might miss an extension.

As previously stated - if refunds, really not a worry on Federal, State might be a different issue.

Just file as soon as you can!

If any penalties or interest, you might have to make an adjustment on your fees

        Mistakes happen!
