    DIY - TurboTax

    http://www.turbotax.com/lp/ty10/ppc/...1348&skw=turbo tax 2009&kw=

I have many clients that would need premier for $75 w/o state. How much more is state? $25?
That is $100 and thinking of one client, I prepare their return for about $195. I cannot see how my lowest price TP filing MFJ with a1 rental would have the desire to mess with this when I charge a total of $195.

    Turbo Tax Site

Says State is $ 39.95 per State in addition to the Basic, Deluxe, Premier and Home & business
GottaLuv Turbo Tax Pitch on the Free Audit Support - wonder what that includes???

Guess some clients don't count their hours to complete and any research that might need to be done versus what we as Tax Professionals do.

Hmm- I wonder if Turbo Tax has an Enrolled Agent credential or a CPA and if Turbo Tax has to comply with the Annual Regualtions - Licensing , Circ 230, and Continuing Education Credits.

      Another option

You can currently buy TT Premier online (think of that large river) for around $55.

Same includes download of one state for "free." Additional states go for ~$40 ?

Actually, I have a client that is an IRS Group manager, believe it or not! We've finally gotten to the point after a few years where he will let his hair down and tell me things. This year he told me that at the IRS they call the representation from the big chains and software companies "puppy mills". They have too many cases, too few representatives, and too little training, so like a puppy mill, they are trying to churn out the cases as fast as possible and don't care about quality. He says they just settle for whatever they can quickly and call it a day. So now you know what that includes.

I saw H & R Block tax software for sale for $1 at Dollar Tree or one of these type stores
            on about April 20.
