TP is Jr. TP's kid is not Jr.

Is this normal for a TP (male gender) to place Jr. after his last name and yet not Jr. after their kids (daughter) last name or has that always been the way and I just need to get some sleep : )

You need to get some sleep

The Jr. is placed after the last name, but it does not apply to the last name. Jr. means a father has the same first name as his son.

    Example:

Jim Smith has a son and names him Jim Jr.

Thus, Jim Smith Jr. is the son of Jim Smith.

Jim Smith Jr. has a daughter and names her Jane.

Jane Smith is not called Jane Smith Jr. Her name is Jane Smith even though her father is Jim Smith Jr.

If this is confusing to you, then you need to get some sleep.

What if her mother is named Jane Smith?

        Maybe Jane Smith, Juniorette?
Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".

I googled it, and the answer I liked best was "Her Royal Highness the Second".
That would have probably worked pretty well around my house - your mileage may vary...

            First man named John Smith
Names son same - he is John Smith Jr
names son same - he is John Smith III
            so on down the line.

If a middle initial is different - not Junior. Name has to be identical.

It seems like I saw somewhere that this could be a true situation.....but I'm not sure.
            First man named John Smith
            Names son Bill Smith
Names his son after his father so he would be John Smith II

            Is that true?

Apparently so. My best friend in school had this exact situation. He was a II.

I am a second, named for my Grandfather. I am not a junior because I was not named for my father, My Father was named for his Uncle and is the 9th, my brother is the 10th, and his son is the 11th.
