Well, my one straggler which I had not yet heard from finally called today. "Can I bring my stuff by tomorrow after work?" Sure, you can bring it. Boy is she gonna get a surprise when she gets here.

Called her bluff
One calls me every year and says, "I guess you should just get me an extension, I just don't have the heart to dump this on you at this late date." Like SHE is doing ME a favor.
OK, she is not ready, and I have figured this out after ten years of the same thing.
I love extensions, but I decided to call her bluff: "Oh, just bring it on it, that would be great!"
Silence. Then: "Uh, well, uh, I don't have it quite ready. And, we're going out of town. I'll just bring it in when we get back."
And, they will "get back" about October 10.If you loan someone $20 and never see them again, it was probably worth it. -
I do some tax returns for people my husband works with. He comes home this evening and says someone is bringing their documents to him tomorrow and they have 5 years worth of returns. The guy probably don't know you can't file 5 years back but oh, well, we'll figure it out I guess.Comment

I got the same call yesterday. "Can I bring my stuff after work?"
And, yes, there was a surprise when she got here.
Her old boyfriend was sitting at my desk!
He had his back to her, so didn't see her. She and I winked at one another, she dropped her stuff quietly on the table by the door, and tiptoed out!Comment

LTOnly in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".Comment

Well, I spoke too soon. Two more stragglers came in today -- ones I actually did not think I would hear from. (And was hoping I wouldn't). That makes 100% from last year -- except those who died, phased out and did not have to file any more, or kids who had no income.Comment
