I love what I do, but right now I feel underpaid and under appreciated, with all of the late filers "whining" and putting me under undo stress - Some people have no sideration and are just demanding!

    Crunch time!

Things have been pretty smooth for me this tax season, in spite of the fact that I didn't get under way until mid-Feb due to my being out of the country. A couple of extensions to do tomorrow (Friday) and 3 relatively easy returns ( which are already on extension). There are still 3 or 4 stragglers who may call in a panic, but they always go on extension as a precaution even though they usually have refunds anyhow.

Taking the weekend off and then will spend Monday doing a final review of extensions before going home early in the afternoon. The tradition in my household is to take my wife out to dinner on the evening of the last filing day. Thats how I measure succes at advance planning. Sure am glad I started filing those extensions March 10 this year. Makes these last few days much less stressful.

Hope everyone had a profitable tax season, whether stressful or not.

        My sentiments as well.

Kind of like the in-laws - it's good to see the season come, and it's good to see it go! So I'm not sad to see it go and I look forward (for the most part) to next season!

I love doing taxes and I love my clients (most of them). I had a couple of years that I didn't do taxes and I missed it and missed my clients. So I started my own business.

I think the 3 month filing season makes this a stressful job. People always think they are your only client or that theirs only take a couple of minutes to do. So when it is over, we heave a sigh of relief. We need a little break. But then we are ready to get back to it but at a slower pace.

If the filing season was longer our pain would just last longer. It wouldn't help our clients. They would still wait till close to the end to file.

So I am ready for a break. I'll get a couple. Going to GAEA seminar in May. In June we are taking my mother to Michigan to visit her sisters. I haven't been to Michigan in 33 years. Oh, that sounds like a lifetime. Anyway during the summer I can usually work a day a week or part of a couple of days. I can handle that.
