    getting close to the end.

I was so stressed out a few days ago. I have 3 personal returns to finish. One s corp to finish and then his personal.Actually this years return is finished. Just need to look it over and print. Trying to clear up a problem with the SEP IRA from last year. I have one appointment tomorrow and one on Friday. I have 3 returns to be picked up.

I think I am doing ok. Filed a bunch of extensions for people that just aren't ready.

I think I will take time to watch Survivor and American Idol tonight. Get up in the morning and plow through what I have left.

The other day I went to the grocery store and OMG, where did all these people come from. Its like I have been living in another world. A world of no people, just numbers & tax codes etc.. One of my shot the bull clients called the other day and asked "how you holding up". My reply: At the end of one day I feel like I gave birth to an adding machine, another day birth to all the IRS codes. My wife comes home with my 2 kids and I say to myself, who are these people.

He laughed while I thought about crying : )

My spouse is in the usual pout mode which kicks in about 3/15. You'd think after 35 years, they'd get it.

I've got three s-corps to finish and about five individuals. Doing alot of work at night because there are folk coming during the day to pickup so hard to get anything done except print the returns.

Over the past three weeks I've been working about ten hours a day if not a few more. Really been crazy this year. Everyone came in March. My worst year I have had this happen. Add on to that I've had really bad headaches this year. Worse than usual and taking six Advil a day hasn't helped.

Thankful for the business but looking forward to it being over this year.

I'm finished with everything that's not going on extension.

Same thing as Dany - everybody showed up in late March, early April. I was twiddling my thumbs and thinking about polishing up my resume.

I felt physically good this year and something was different - I'm usually a night owl, but this year was an early bird. Up and rarin' to go at 6AM every morning and early to bed.

Hubby was just wonderful this season - did everything around the house, was extremely patient and supportive. I'm keeping him.

                Mmmm

                Taco Bell and Mountain Dew.

I can't believe I am saying this, but I am soooo looking forward to cooking.
If you loan someone $20 and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Cheese crackers, peanut butter and coffee here.

But I'm caught up on tax work. A few more today and tomorrow and then, that's it.

After Monday, sales taxes and 941's etc.

Looking forward to May and meeting at Myrtle Beach.

The Dr. keeps me going.....Dr. Pepper, that is.

Whatever I can find in the pantry to eat. Yesterday my husband brought home Maryland Fried Chicken. Yummy.

Today I went out to buy some stuff for my husband's retirement party and had some soup at Panera Bread and brought back a pumpkin muffin. I'll be set for the day.

Had one client this morning and finished another return. Got stuff to finish 2 others. That shouldn't take long. Go back over the s corp and their personal and they will be done.

                    Looking good.

                      Counting the hours here.

It has been a busy season. I have several returns that could be finished if the client would just get the information in.

By the way, this will be my first year on extension for my own personal return. I think I have turned into a plumber or carpenter, with unfinished projects at home.

Hubby here has been great. He is a single dad from Jan 15th to April 15th every year. And I am a single mom for planting and harvesting time.

Good luck to all as we rush to the finish line

                        Tough tax season

This was a very strange year. It's my first year e-filing which presented its own set of challenges. Clients were notified back in January to get their tax materials to me one week early. Nice try.

This is the 29th year of my own practice and the latest clients have ever arrived in season. You start wondering if they've all gone elsewhere. It turns out that only two clients left. One, for gods know what reason, and the other moved out of state.

So, between e-filing, and a late start for everyone, it's been the most difficult tax season I can remember. Gallons of coffee to become alert or stay awake, valerian root at night's end in hopes of getting to sleep (didn't work) and the most snow in 30 years.

The exacerbated work compression had me working 16-17 hours a day, every day of the week, for the past four weeks. I'm ready to drop.

As a general statement, I can say I don't like e-filing. However, this past week it's been wonderful. No more hurried, harried and frustrating trips to the post office. That I like!

Good luck everyone putting a wrap on your tax season.

Just keep positive about efiling. I love it. Really the clients love it too. It will become second nature to you next year.

I have one appointment tomorrow and one to finish. Others are waiting for info and on extension. I do need to check and see who hasn't been here and see if I need to call any of them.

I always get stressed out around the 3rd week of March and stress really bad for a couple of weeks. Then the last few days I am fine.

                            Sad to see it end

I am sad to see the end of the tax season. I always work so hard to have a banner year then at the end it seems like wow it is already over. I guess there is always next year but it seems so long from now.

Maybe I am wierd but how many people like there jobs I love my job. From all the stories I hear most people hate there jobs and I feel lucky to do what I do. no boss expect myself!!

Well until next year....I will be here all weekend I love the last minute rush and I still charge regular prices no upcharge even for the 8pm 18th filer. Treat them nice and they will always come back next year.
