    Moving expense

from Germany. Dentist worked there for 3 years, contracted to work on an army base by a third party. All expenses of the move over and back were paid by the contractor, except-he purchased a second FUN car while there and they would pay for only one to return. He paid to get it to New Jersey-drove it from there back to MN and is happily employed in MN. The shipping cost was 3500 and the mileage rate from NJ would be .22-end of Oct and would the hotel bill for one night to get here count?? Everything else was paid directly by the contractor-this was his only moving cost, can I take it all??????/

I can't see anything in your post that would be disallowed. The shipping costs of the car (personal effects) is allowable. In one example a sailboat was allowed by the tax court.
