I have a client that purchased a VW Diesel in Dec 2010. Salesman told him it qualifies for Motor Vehicle Credit of $650.
I've done some research and the model my client purchased matches but the make year is 2011. The chart listed in TTB and in another resource says it has to be make year 2010.
Also from my reading it appears that the manufacturer is suppose to give the buyer a certification showing that car qualifies for the credit.
So my questions are:
- Does the car have to be a 2010 make year?
- Does client have to get a manufacturer's certification?
I assume this is similar to the energy credit where certificates are needed to prove weather eligible for the credit.
Thank you for any help. Getting pretty tired here.
