    Would a donation to a school band booster club be considered made to a qualified charity?

      You have to be sure that the club is registered with IRS as a 501c3 organization and that donations qualify. See publication78 on IRS web site.

          Is the club an official organization of the school? Donations to local governments, which would include public school districts, are deductible.
