    DIY SS-4 mistake

Client filed an SS-4 all by herself. IRS "We assigned you an employer identification number" letter says she must file form 1065 by the due date.

Unfortunately, this is a single-member LLC.

    How do I fix this?

    Thanks for advice.

    Phone

Been there, done that. I called (number on Form? It was years ago) and it was dealt with via telephone. I was surprised. Thought we'd end up just getting the "partnership" canceled and have to re-apply as a SMLLC. But, one telephone call did the trick. They may have had me write a letter for the client to sign to put everything in writing.

      I found this

How to update info associated with a business or entity's EIN number if an EIN application (form SS-4) has been incorrectly filed with the IRS. Changes other than info updates may require registration of a new employer identification number (EIN).
