I have never been asked this question before, did research but could not find anything. Is Medic Alert deductible on Sch A? My gut feeling says yes, but that is all I have to go on.
Medic Alert = Deductible?

I would say Yes. It is used by older people to notify the proper authorities that they need medical help. I would use it.

if this is the case then I should be able to deduct the elderly clients phone bills because it is a method to call 911. I don't think it is deductible.Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.Comment

I would think facts and circumstances would determine the medical necessity. Someone with no medical issues having the medic alert because the grand-kids think it's a good idea vs. someone with medical necessities would make a difference.Comment

I agree. It should be a medical deduction. That's its purpose.Comment

I would take it
I can see why it is a medical deduction and why it is not but my call is take it.Comment
