    Merchant Marine

New clients that were in the Merchant Marines for a while last year. They have w-2's from Company in NY, but no NY wages were reported, another one from a company in FL, w/ no state wages reported, than a company out of MD with no state wages reported. Do I take the wages in box 1, and report them to state of ME where they have lived since 2003? I don't have to do returns for MD or NY correct? They had one for MA but it reported the state wages, so I'll do a nonresident return there.

Does anyone know where to look to get info on Merchant Marine employees? Thank you.

It would be an individual state issue, not a federal issue. Each state may have a different rule that applies. So you need to look into the rules for their home state, and the state they are based out of to see who wants the tax on the income.
