Postal worker passed away but was drawing a pension, and receiving a 1099R with a gross amount and taxable amount of somewhat less because of his personal contribution of about $60K. She is now receiving a pension off of him (she has not worked for the USPO. The gross is a certain amount and the taxable indicates, "Unknown." On her 1099R it shows his contribution of $60K. How is the taxable amount figured for her as the survivor?
