    Form 4868

    If the Federal extension is e-filed, must the corresponding 1040 also be e-filed?

    I wish to e-file the extension but the client is adamant he wants to paper file the Form 1040.

    Each issue stands on its owe..............no problems paper filing 1040.

      Are you filing the extension using Form 8878 ?? (not clear as to your definition of "efiling")

      As for no efiling of tax return: Let me guess....your client has no cell phone, uses dial-up internet (AOL?), and frequently watches VCR tapes??

        87 years old - only phone is a rotary dial (private line rather than party line) - no computer - but does watch old tapes on beta
