In 2009, I recall any refunds above $10K were in paper check form only. Does anyone know if that still applies for 2010?

There's no limit and there wasn't any in 2009.

Actually there was at least one for 2009

2009 client had around $11K - Fed refund and elected direct deposit but recieved a check. RN & Acct # correct. We must remember who we are dealing with here, the IRS.

True, but there is no hard and fast rule that direct deposits over $10k will be a paper check.

I remember something like this several years ago, about the max of 10,000$, but had forgotten it last week when I efiled one for a client.

However...... my most excellent software which others in another thread have also raved about, had no warnings when getting ready to send the return. Considering all other possible things it warns about, I would think this would be included if true.
