    New York Prepareres

I'm doning my first New York return. The client lives in New Yrok City. I was wondering where I could find their local earned income tax rates. Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

        Am I correct

Am I correct that there is no local tax form for New York City residents and that the tax is collected through the New York state form? Thanks foy any answers, I have never done a return for a client that lived and worked in New Yrol City.

          NYC Tax Forms

New York City residents report their income tax through the NYS IT-201 form.

There is no separate NYC resident tax return form.

IT-150 is the short form. The long form is the IT-201. The instructions are in one document now.

Times have sure changed since my high school days, when I did three separate returns for my parents, federal, city, and state, all with pencil and paper. Having an adding machine was a luxury, but I don't think I used it much.
