    Oppenheimer

I have a sale for "15 Shares of X Corp Wash" then all the info needed for cost basis then it show it at a Loss.

So the only notation is Wash after the company name.

Does anyone know if Oppenheimer is showing a Wash Sale? There is no notation after the loss amount.

    Call Letters

    JG (the poet)

Find the call letters for the Oppenheimer fund on the stock exchange. Almost all funds will end in "X". For example, the Franklin Gold Fund is "FKRCX and Invesco Small Cap Equity is "SMEAX". Oppenheimer may have a few dozen funds.

Once you make the identity, the call letters will reveal the exact name of the fund. As a further note, my guess is that "wash" is not part of the name and indicates someone's designation of a wash sale.

"X Corp Wash" doesn't sound like a mutual fund. I believe Oppenheimer also provides brokerage services.

There's usually a CUSIP that you can look up. But obviously the owner's monthly or quarterly statement for the sale in question is the best place to look.

I interpreted this post that he knows the company name -- he just wants to know if it is a wash sale. Probably, but have the client either furnish the info by statement or call the broker.

Thanks I do. And I was just trying to see if it was a wash sale. But what I mainly wanted was to know if this was something I should know, so now I know to call the broker!

I'm not at all much of a poet, For that task I'd have to be fit. And although I'd hate to admit,
That really I'm just a nitwit, (And now I must go and transmit.)
