Tax withholding from payment to a S-corp

Is it possible that tax can be withheld from payments to a S-corp?

    Withholding

    Anything's possible.

What kind of payment is it?

Most of the 1099 series forms have a box for withholding.

      Link

Here is a link to the Backup Withholding from 1099 forms
However I doubt that the Vendors are going to want to do, as it involves more accounting/reporting.

Sure, if the payer doesn't have a properly completed W9 which would indicate a corporation is properly filled out and submitted to payor.

Only seen one case like this back about 1989.

Ir's payment for service as non-employee compensation.

How and when should the withholding tax be sent to the IRS? Does it go to Form 941?

            943?

There's a special form for non-W-2 withholding, Form 943 or 944 or something close.

... to be used by the one who withheld the tax.
