    Taxpayer & wife lived together until Aug. Wife and kids move out in Aug. Could taxpayer file HOH. Wife has already filed and claimed kids.---Texas

      Had to have lived apart for the last six months of the year. Both of them should be MFS. (Or MFJ if the boneheads would get along long enough to do it.) I know that's an oversimplified answer. The intelligent sounding part is in TTB 3-13.
      If you loan someone $20 and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

          Yeah, I looked at TTB 3-13 and didn't find "boneheads" anywhere in the text.
