    brain drain organist at church gets a stipend pay for position I think this is taxable income to client right along with social security and medicare as well right??

      That is generally how it is done. Church organists often do this routinely. If it were a friend who played at a wedding once, then I would say no.

          My husband the church director of music/organist receives a W-2 with the usual boxes fille in for regular wages, and a 403(b) too.
