Client called the other day and worked for a business that is now out of business. She called the person that did the payroll and asked if the W2 was on its way and the lady said she is not issueing the w2 because they did not pay here and to call previous owner. Client cna not get a hold of the owner and ofcourse she can not find her last pay stub.
What would you do? Should I just tell her to bring in the last stub she can find and work off of that or what? I have never had this happen but I am sure someone has sould I get some ideas?
