    Mineral rights trust

    No experience with these although it is my wifes family. Are these typically setup as a grantor trust and what are the filing requirements? Pretty general I know but I am not sure where to start.

      Not really enough info here to comment. Are you looking to put mineral rights into a trust now? Or are these already in a Family Living Trust? Is there a trust document (there must be to do a trust.) Grantor RLT trusts usually do not have to file a 1041, but other types do. Is there any current income from these mineral rights?
