    Flowers to secretary deductible?

I just saw an article on CNN that said flowers and candy to secretaries weren't considered a business expense.

If flowers were bought for secretary day or as a gift for tenure, wouldn't that be considered "in the normal course of business". I'd almost put it in the category of meals and entertainment. We can deduct office parties and such.

Deductible non-taxable fringe benefit, unless the boss had his own personal agenda for giving out the gifts. Then not deductible as bribery -LOL
