    qualified tuition plan

    ya'll are so funny.I would love to read everything but toooo busy right now. t/p has qtp(texas tomorrow fund) distribution less than the tuition deduction. In the tax book I read that they would get the american opportunity credit with no computation necessary since it is less than the tuition paid(no room and board). However, when I compute it on my program it subtracts the qtp and gives the balance as the credit. Any answers . thanks

    I would think you'd have to subtract it

    unless you treat the qtp distribution as taxable income.
