    MD military help?

I get so confused with the military. Even with TTB states, it speaks in circles.

Could someone please "puzzle me this, Batman?"

Military home of record is MD.

Does not maintain an abode in MD.

Is stationed outside MD all year.

Do they pay MD tax and file a resident return?
As I read TTB MD-2, under Military Personnel:
    Nonresident military personnel.
~with only military income are not required to file a MD return.

    Is he MD nonresident?

    MILITARY AND OTHERS WORKING
    OUTSIDE OF MARYLAND
    Military and other individuals whose
domicile is in Maryland, but who are
stationed or work outside of Maryland, including
overseas, retain their Maryland legal residence.
Such persons do not lose Maryland
residence just because of duty assignments
outside of the State; see Administrative Release
    37. Military personnel and their spouses should
    see Instruction 29.
From MD resident booklet page 5.

He continues to file a resident return in MD as long as he is in the military unless and until he has established residency in some other state. If he does this, he needs to notify his finance officer of the change.

        Thanks!

Some days I get it, some days I don't. That was a bad day and I thank you for deciphering the lingo for me!
