First Time Home Buyer Credit -Military orders

Taxpayer and spouse bought a home Apr 2010 and received the First Time Home Buyer Credit. Taxpayer is in the military and now has decided to retire and move and plans to sell the home before the 36 month period is up. His question to me is would his retirement orders qualify for the exemption of military who received orders. My thoughts are no because it says a member of the uniformed services who sold the home because they received government orders to servce on qualified official exteneded duty. My thinking is that retirement does not fit into that catagory. Does anyone have any thoughts or input here for me.
