Minnesota military servicemen receive $120.00 for each month served in a combat zone. I have a "Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty." It shows the months in a combat zone. The form says they want a copy of the "Leave and Earnings Statement" for each month in qualifying status. Has anybody had any successful experience in filing with the first form mentioned?

Past Experience
I have had clients file for this in the past and they DID need a copy of the Leave and Earnings Statements for each and every month in the combat zone. I would imagine that is needed because the discharge papers could contain information of "months in a combat zone" outside the time period this particular $120 "thank you" program covers.
I have not had any first hand experience filing these because they really are entirely unrelated to income taxes.
