Energy Tax Credit for Individual Residential Home

I have a client who made energy efficiency impovements to there home and incurred around $6,000 in 2005. Now they need to take the credit. It does not look like they installed any Solar System. How much is the credit? $500? What is the federal and state form?

      Energy Credit for 2006-2007

The energy credit isn't applicable for 2005, doesn't come into effect until 2006-2007.

I agree the federal credit begins in 2006.

Some states do have credits available now.

Don't see any credit for energy for 2005.

Big tax credit if you are building joint strike fighter though.

              In your dreams

              >>California Energy Tax Credit<<

In your dreams only. California had a solar energy credit for electrical systems certified by a particular state commission. Some counties had a few rebates. That was about it, and it's all gone now. Here in California, our idea of saving energy is to send the biggest windbags to Washington D.C.
