    Divorce

H and W split in Aug 05. The divorce is finalized in Dec 05. A daughter lives with MOM the last 5 months. As part of the property settlement the husband purchased the house for the X and at the end of five years he is to turn title over to the wife free and clear. She does not pay the mortgage or the real estate taxes, but pays the rest of the housing costs. She is not on the mortgage. The mortgage is interest only. Previously asked part of this question. Who gets HOH?? Is this the H's second home(he gets interest and RE taxes)? My guess is the interest and taxes are more than 50% of home costs after Aug house purchase. There is NO alimony, stipulated in the decree-that means NO alimony so that is not part of it. He does also pay child support...

    total mortgage payment

For the HoH calculation, you use total mortgage payment, not just interest.

Both file Single. The X-husband claims interest and RE taxes on the house. Its like a second home where his daughter lives
Everybody should pay his income tax with a smile. I tried it, but they wanted cash
