    SCarolina AdValorem

Any SC preparers out there? What about you Dyne? wanna take a shot at this one...

Tennessee Corporation has an operation in Charleston, and bought two service vehicles. Price on each was appx $14,000.

South Carolina and Charleston tag-team my client - sends a bill for AdValorem tax at appx $700. That's almost 5% of the cost of the vehicle!!!

Also, typically states which assess AdValorem have a one-year holiday because the year of the purchase their govt collects sales tax on the purchase. These SC vehicles are less than two months old.

This seems ridiculous and inappropriate. Is there any suspicion this may be incorrect?

    Bump It up

Bump this back to the first page. Surely we've got some Carolina people who would know this.
