My client relocated to CA in 09 and I was preparing their 09 return in May of 10. My client for some reason decides to issue me a check for tax prep fees for an amt we had not yet discusssed and by the way 1/3 of what I was going to charge. I asked my client where they came up with that amt and they replied, we just assumed. Well they ended paying me the other 2/3rds. Now, I get a email from them asking for my help with preparing their 10 tax return using TuboTax. I helped this once but told them I am not in the business of helping DIY taxpayers.
