    Mileage Log

OK another weird question I've only quickly researched a little with no luck, hoping someone out there has experience with these. I know the requirements for the mileage log for business. But I'm thinking that I read somewhere a couple of years ago, that Newspaper carriers can record the information, without a daily log??? The information is reported to the newspaper on a regular basis but not reimbursed by them. This carrier is over 18. Am I right about the log requirement?

I looked at the previous messages on this post, can they simply have the days, miles of route that they know, or do they need to have a detailed log?

          I have 2 clients

that are newspaper workers. Their W2s give the amount of reimbursement for mileage from the paper company, however, I do ask them to keep a mileage log. If they are giving it to the company, they can just keep a copy fo themselves as well. Has worked great for me and them. Hope this helps.

What I tell my clients who have a regular route is to document fully all their stops and then they have a record of the mileage. After that just put the date and the miles on the log.

And you'll find information. Maybe the sampling method is what you are referring to? It is discussed in the above link.
