latest on health care court fight

now it is a 2/2 tie....won't be over until the US Supremes sing...unfortunately

In ruling against President Obama’s health care law, federal Judge Roger Vinson used Mr. Obama’s own position from the 2008 campaign against him, when the then-Illinois senator argued there were other ways to achieve reform short of requiring every American to purchase insurance.

Thanks for the update....Florida judge makes Obamacare analogous to eating broccoli. Can the Govt force us all to eat broccoli?

      Will Be a Tax

All that has to happen is for some federal judge to recharacterize the insurance requirement as a "tax". The government can't force us to buy broccoli but they CAN force us to pay taxes.

However, if the Supreme Court somehow does find Obamacare unconstitutional, THIS new Congress will not pass it again.

        I agree.....

I've heard this argument before....I thought that the tax that's imposed federally currently in place, like Medicare and SS is an "Income" tax.....and that it would have to be somehow taxed that way to make it uniform.

The Supreme Court can decide to not hear the case as well, right? What's the chances of that happening?

Since there are different decisions at the lower courts it's almost a certainty SOTUS will hear it.

Is everyone tracking client returns that may have to be amended if the law is held unconstitutional?
