Ok, thought you guys might know something or someone. You know the banks are no longer taking the 8109's and I have a client I have been setting up on EFTPS for over a month now with one problem after the other. She called me at home last night paniced because the agent REFUSED to take any payment from her!! I told her that he was evidently a difficult person and to call back and speak to someone else. She did that, and they took her 940 payment but REFUSED to take her 941 payment. She made her 941 payment today and they said would not show electonically till tomorrow. Which would be LATE! I called the # they gave me because they said that was a different department when I said she shouldn't be penalized for this craziness. The person at that number obviously understood nothing about EFTPS--he said they didn't take payments at all!!!!!!! Anyway I was trying to head off the penalty assesment, but I can wait till we get a letter then dispute. Any ideas?

I have 3 clients that I make their EFTPS payments for. Each month around the 8th I send them an email and tell them how much their deposit is and that it will be deducted from their account on the 15th. If there is a problem, they have a week to let me know before the payment posts. Never had a problem with them at all.
I have another that makes his own...forgets occasionally. Now he has decided that when he does the payroll he will make deposit at same time for the month.
Another one I send an email and tell her how much to pay and she makes her own.
So far I haven't had a problem with that. I am not responsible for the payment. I am merely handling a transfer they have authorized me to do.

I also do EFTPS payments for around six of my clients.
All have signed an engagement letter that states when I will process the payroll taxes and that I will call or email them to expect the payment to come out on or before the 15th. I also added that I am in no way responsible for making sure their bank account has money in it to make the payments and they are personally liable to make sure all payroll taxes are paid.
