Drivers License & Soc Sec Cards

Just a general question to all. I make a copy of drivers licenses, social security cards, and kids soc sec cards just the first year I prepare taxes. After that I do not ask for that information any longer. Does anyone see an issue doing it that way .

This is what I do. If identity is validated once and then I know who I am taking to it would seem ridiculous to me to ask for that info again.

But this is exactly what is required for bank products, which I stopped offering this season. I only had a handful anyway.
