    Why Three W-3?

Client has three business locations. All Sloe prop. All has same federal ID. He prepares three sch "C'" every year. ADP (Payroll Company) has prepared three "W-3" for 2005.

    Does this sound right?

I understand three Sch "C" for three business activities under same federal ID. But why three different payroll? Is ADP right?

Thanks for your help in advance.

The instructions for Form W-3 say to file a separate W-3 for each type of W-2, except for third party sick pay. Maybe each business is of a different type and a separate 941 is filed for each location.

      Thanks Bees.

Business is identical. ADP did do three payroll as if they are seperate company under same FED ID. The did file Three 941 etc. But I was thinking why bother. Only one owner and in all 13 employees. One reason may be three businesses are located in three different counties requiring diff. local tax etc. I will find out more about locations tomorrow.
