Agree on Crashes
I am not submitting on 2-14-11
My clients will have waited from current to 2-14-11 they can wait one more day
I am having "Valentines Dinner" somewhere other than my kitchen! One little "day" during tax season that I feel both I and my husband deserve!
Even though my software provider has offered for us to submit efiles prior and they will release on "the day" approved by IRS - I am not doing that either!
This whole thing is an accident waiting to happen IMHO!

system crashes
If everybody sends their stockpile of returns on the 14 or 15th, do you think the IRS computer is going to be able to handle all the return before crashing?Leave a comment:

Processing Returns
IRS released a notice IR-2011-7 today, "Start Processing Delayed Returns on Feb 14" - Spidell in California also released the same info.
My tax software also advised this, I just have not looked at the actual forms. Looks like Schedule A, higher ed deductions - form 8917, and educator expenses.

It sounds like the IRS is not, however the software companies will hold until they can transmit on the 14th:
People using e-file for these delayed forms can get a head start because many major software providers have announced they will accept these impacted returns immediately. The software providers will hold onto the returns and then electronically submit them after the IRS systems open on Feb. 14 for the delayed forms.Leave a comment:
