It is heck getting older....Venting rant

I can't see without reading glasses, and cannot seem to get the correct prescription for the graduated bifocals! These swirly light bulbs don't seem to give off enough light. I'm tired of the super tiny print on W2s and other forms. Now, I can't seem to hear the TV without it blasting really loud, and the phone doesn't seem loud enough either. Can't hear Hubby at all unless he's facing me when he's talking. Can't eat onions or fried foods without suffering some real gastric distress. Can't fall asleep. Everything hurts. Tinnitus has set in and there's this weird tinkling sound in my ear. Bloodwork and all other medical tests show I'm in great health. This just sucks. Can't wait for the incontinence or whatever other inconvenient horror awaits. Happy effing Monday

    Getting Old

Getting old may be better than the alternative, but it's hard work!

The thing I dread most about old age is when my memory starts to fail.

                JohnH,

What did you say about your memory failing?

                LT
Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".

                        Suggestion if post is serious

Specialty lamp stores sell old torch lamps that use 100/200/300 watt bulbs (the base is different from a standard bulb). I have one and it is great.

Also, get a hearing aid and prescription pain meds and write them off on your Schedule A.

Holding the form up to my face as I tipped my eyeglasses back felt very aging to my image- haha. Now I have a little clear ruler with a magnifying bar in it, so I can cheat and seem to be "carefully analyzing" the document with my ruler.

We'll blame that on chuckling over your posts.

Also, if you do want to try more modern fluorescent technology, Ott Lite makes high quality lighting products but they are quite expensive. Most reviews are fairly positive, but I think all fluorescent products seem a bit iffy with regard to their stated life.
