Form 9325 -Acknowledgement for Taxpayers who file EF

This is a form to tell clients that their return has been filed electronically and that the return has been accepted. The filled out form is not available at the time the client is in the office and takes their copy of the return. The software automatically fills it out after the return has been accepted. I have the filled out form in my computer but how do other preparers get this form to the client? Are they required to have a copy?

Not required to give to the TP unless requested by TP. See Pub. 1345.

I simply e-mail them a copy of the form. They seem to appreciate it and I receive no calls asking where is my refund.

I always mail to my clients, first they know when their refund should be coming and second this is their proof that the tax return was filed.
