      The IRS is verifying information on the app. If it does not match their records they are making every effort to determine the qualification before issuing the PTIN. They also will not deposit your check until they issue the PTIN... If you mailed your app you can still register on line.
      Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.

        Did mine this morning. Got my old number. Took me about 35 minutes to complete because I read and double checked each page over and over before I hit the next button.
