The IRS will delay the renewal period for Enrolled Agents with license numbers ending in 4, 5, or 6 until the revised user fee becomes effective. When a date for renewal is set, the IRS will publish a schedule at least 30 days before the beginning of the revised period for enrollment.
Affected EAs will have at least 60 calendar days, but no more than 120 calendar days, under the revised renewal enrollment schedule to submit the required applications for renewal.
Although the renewal period has been postponed, EAs must still complete their continuing education, including two hours of EA ethics, prior to January 1, 2011.
When the renewal date is set, it will be published on the OPR Web page at: http://www.irs.gov/taxpros/agents/index.html
