    Compensation fund

Got that yesterday. Sent them the $1599 transfer fee by Western Union. When can I Expect my money? Do I need to declare it as line 21 other income?

you would think our email providers could delete these rather than send them along
Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.

The inquiry I received was from the State Comptroller and was by mail. I had to provide a copy of my drivers license and social security card and an old property tax receipt from my former address.
And, of course, you could have done it all yourself and kept 100% of "your" money. It's not unlike the folks who will charge you $20 for you to get a copy of your Social Security earnings, which are available at no cost.

(Several years ago I was bored and went through my state's online escheat site and I plugged in a few client names - hit on one that was owed ~$500 from delayed payment after he moved out of state. I sent him the info - he had to provide "proof" - including an old drivers license from the 70's which showed "that" address - and soon got his money. He later sent me a nice gift certificate for a favorite restaurant.)

Not that these things are funny, but I like the "US IRS." IRS never identifies themselves as the US IRS.

Also, the copyright.... Government publications are never copyright protected.

You would also think the scam people could learn proper English. They always seem to have a problem with that.
