My Summary:

Taxpayers get a letter or a call and they go into panic mode. Very realistic

Better have a pencil to write down all the forms they use in the audit process. Especially the privacy notice.

IRS agents are extremely organized, timely and professional.

Taxpayer representative is a doofus.

Don't mention anything about the IRS reporting the audit adjustment to your state, so when you pay the IRS bill you think it's all taken care of.

Lesson 3 - Representation

AWWWW. It's so easy to do it yourself, no reason to pay a professional to represent you. After all, you prepared the return yourself with the BOX, you can handle a silly audit. The little wifey looks so trusting, no Revenue Agent would want to turn her life into chopped liver by being mean during the audit. And, if you have any questions, just ask, the RA will be so cheerful in explaining everything so you get a fair and happy result!
