    The IRS Expects Tax Preparers to Help Close Tax Gap!

    webCPA just tweeted the announcement..

    Wait a second - Didn't they just announce we have to PAY to be Registered.
    So we gotta now pay to help them close the gap! Nice move... Smart!!

    Great. Some how I feel like I just joined the movie Armageddan -
    You know the part where all the guys going into space make demands on the Government. I don't want to pay taxes again - EVER!
    Ok. we'll help you close the tax gap but in return - We gotta get something too! I mean don't we actually work for the people paying us!! Give us a Preparer Credit (greater than that to offset the amound we need to now must (soon) PAY to prepare the returns!).

    I'll be glad to help but first theIRS must refuse to accept all 'Self-Prepared' returns by requiring all returns to be efiled thru a preparer/ERO as licensed by theIRS. No more TurboTax Timmies doing it themselves and jeopardizing their cabinet appointment.

        How About

        Think of the revenues that IRS could find to assist in reducing the deficit, if they only audited self-prepared and Turbo Tax or any other online do it yourself Tax Return Prep.

        And if they move toward eliminating EITC ????
