    Is there a dead to fiel for FTHB credit?

    A dumb question.

    Is there a deadline to file for the First Time Home Buyer tax credit?

    I am guessing they give 3 years to amend the tax return for the FTHB credit just like how long they would allow for an amended return to file. Just want to make sure I am right.

    As far as I can see, you are right. The normal limitations for amended returns should apply. Of course the PURCHASE ITSELF has to meet specified deadlines.
