    Solar Electric Credit 2010

Just checking - for qualified solar electric property costs tax year 2010:

    1. 30%, not subject to limitation.

    2. Nonrefundable.

    3. Carryfoward of unused balance.

    Right?

It seems like these things are changing faster than I can keep up. I have read IRC Sec 25D.

Client has manufacturer's certificate and all other substantiation. Had solar panels installed on his residence.

I've also heard something about a grant in lieu of this credit and wonder if anyone has information regarding that?

    Thanks

I did one of these and concur with your findings. I couldn't even get a manufacturer's certification since it was build from scratch but was assured by the company that they complied with the minimum requirements, which is all that is really important. Each state is different.

Some states probably have grants for solar, my state does not.
