    Occupancy and FTHBC

    When does the taxpayer have to make the residence their main residence? I thought I read somewhere it had to become their main residence before May 1, 2010;but, now I cannot find anything that says WHEN it has to become the main residence.

    Any thoughts?

      You needed to enter into a binding contract before 5/01/2010 and actually purchase the home before 7/01/2010, and it must be the purchase of your main home.

      I can't find any information to confirm you must actually move into the home at any specific date. You must "purchase", but when must you actually "reside" in your new home?
