Yes, the iPad is a valuable business tool - its game features are nothing more than a by-product of its fantastic media capabilities. Anyone who does any sort of public speaking will find it extremely valuable, since it can be used as a first-class teleprompter and simultaneous recording device.
It is a great resource for reading books, much better than the Kindle or Nook, IMO. You can carry your entire library on it, including any research materials which can be downloaded. (BTW, how soon will there be a version of The Tax Book available for it?) There are several great pdf apps, so anything which can be rendered in pdf format can be loaded onto the iPad and stored permanently. I see the iPad as a laptop on steroids.
