I had it with the price increase every year with Lacerte, I’m switching to Drake.
Anyone else switching this year?

Not for 2010

But I had it with the price increase back in 2003 with Lacerte, and had switched software then.

Then once Intuit took over it was really not cost effective for me.

Not only is the software good but the support crew are excellent -- they're simply wonderful people who are a pleasure to deal with.

Not switching. Like Sandy I left Lacerte in 2003 because of price increase up to...um...about $2K back then I think. What's it cost now?

Never had Drake -- staying with ATX. It was pretty good for '07 & '08 and then 2009 was just excellent -- smooth as silk with only two minor item support calls. Don't know whether or not that's a positive development due to CCH buying them out (usually the other way around).

Now all I have to worry about is "Will CCH kill ATX to merge with TaxWise or another program?" If I was shopping around, this particular concern is enough to make me pass up ATX and go to Drake (or maybe TaxSlayer). As John H pointed out awhile back, corporate honchos generally put the numbers above customer concerns when debating whether to give a program the axe.
